Our journey began in 1994 in Idanthota, Ambalangoda, located in Sri Lanka's Southern Province. Founded as Nihal Coir Products, it started as a father's business with a deep commitment to manufacturing premium natural coir products for the domestic market.
Over the course of 30 years of continuous production experience, we built a strong reputation for consistent quality and reliable supply, becoming an approved supplier to Hayleys PLC, one of Sri Lanka's most respected conglomerates. We also hold dual certification from the Coconut Development Authority (CDA) of Sri Lanka.
To bring our decades of manufacturing expertise to global buyers, Maleesha Mendis founded Leeshiya Ceylon as a private limited company dedicated to international export. Today, Leeshiya Ceylon bridges the gap between our rich manufacturing heritage and the growing global demand for high-quality, eco-friendly natural coir solutions.

Our facility handles the complete production chain from raw coconut husk to finished export product. This includes retting, defibering, spinning, weaving, pressing, baling, and finishing.

We maintain in-house inspection at every production stage. We are fully certified by the Coconut Development Authority (CDA) of Sri Lanka, ensuring 100% natural, biodegradable products.
Global Export
With a capacity of up to 10 shipping containers weekly, we ship via the Port of Colombo with regular liner services to all major global destinations, providing full export documentation.
